You find Amelia Cyrano standing near the window, her eyes narrowed as if she's measuring your approach. She doesn’t wait for you to speak.
"I know what you're going to say. That Stableman said something, didn't he? Well you should know I had no reason to harm Virginia. My fight was with Poe. He stole my work, "The Magpie" and masqueraded it as his own, calling it "The Raven", which, of course, got him fortune and fame. Or at least I thought so. I went into his study to leave him that note, I admit, but my goal was only to steal one of his poems and take it for myself. After going through his study, I found that he is... perhaps not as successful as I initially thought. The fire of vengeance was immediately snuffed, and that's when the Stableman found me."
Amelia then points a finger, which piques your interest.
"But if you want to know what I think, look no further than Elmira Ellet. I saw her and Edgar Poe in a scandalously compromising embrace earlier in the evening, whispering and grabbing at each other. If Virginia had found out about that, well, who knows what could have happened."
Amelia’s bitterness toward Poe is palpable, but how far is she willing to go to punish him? This is beginning to get complicated. You see a large set of raven's wings and decide to take a moment to collect your thoughts.
