Once Upon A Crime Murder Mystery

A grand, illuminated mansion at night with reflections in the water.

Welcome To "Who Killed My Hart?"

If you have any issues, feel free to come back here and get links if you have trouble scanning QR codes or reading the text in person. We suggest you work with someone, but more than anything, you might want to take notes!

When you have figured out who the killer is, go back to the table and use the last 4 numbers of their phone number in the safe and see if you're correct. The beginning of this sordid tale will begin below. Good luck!

The Murder of Dr. Edmund Hart

In the grandeur of Hart Estate, nestled amidst sprawling gardens and whispering willows, the night air was filled with the echoes of a lavish fundraiser. Esteemed guests, adorned in their finest, roamed through the opulent halls, their laughter and chatter painting the evening with vibrancy. Dr. Edmund Hart, the beloved philanthropist and visionary behind the evening's event, played the gracious host, his presence weaving through the crowd like threads of gold. As the night waned and the festivities dwindled, the crowds dispersed and only a few people remained in the mansion.

  • Major Caraway (555-2123) an old friend of Dr. Hart and longtime military servicemember. Hardened and quick to anger.
  • Dr. Philip Plume (555-3124) a rival doctor who went to college with Hart, but harbors deep feelings of jealousy, though he still attends his rival’s philanthropic gatherings.
  • Scarlett Ambrosia (555-4125) a proud socialite who spends her life attending parties and raising money for charities. She was once the heiress to a fortune, but has fallen out of favor with her family and now directs Hart’s philanthropic events.
  • Sarah Hayes (555-5126) botanist and owner of multiple florist shops around town; big on philanthropy. She was in a secret relationship with Dr. Hart until their relationship recently ended.

Silence began to reclaim the mansion, save for the soft rustling of leaves in the gentle night breeze and the low chatter of the remaining guests. It was then, in the quiet aftermath of celebration and charity, that Mr. Thorne, the estate's diligent gardener, sought Dr. Hart to inquire about securing the mansion for the night. His steps, guided by the soft glow of the study's light under the door, led to a discovery that would shatter the evening's serenity: Dr. Hart, motionless at his desk, an eerie stillness enveloping the room where life had so vibrantly thrummed just hours before.

After a thorough search of the crime scene in the study, the detectives find the following:

  • A loose, brass button that appears to be similar to the buttons on the military dress uniform.
  • A wilted, purple flower laying on the desk with petals missing. Some of the petals are under Hart’s mouth as he lay on the table.
  • A torn note in Dr. Hart’s hand with smudged and  messy handwriting indicates “You will pay for this, Hart” The paper is unsigned and torn.
  • A glass is on the desk with the residue of a drink inside. The inside of the glass smells like almonds.
  • A small, red feather is stuck on Dr. Hart’s collar.

To search the foyer, find greenery in a blue pot, near the front and looking out towards the train is the spot.

To search the salon, find a small tree,

at the entrance to Bogside, a place to sit with mirrors to see.

To search the greenhouse, find the iron fence, a small alleyway between the buildings you'll find the clue hence.

To search the guest bedroom, find the frequency 90.1, there you might find a possible smoking gun.

To search the library, find where the Mr. Black lives, underground and peaceful, another clue he gives.

To search the dining room, find the pink table, bones vanity holds the clue if you're able.
